Privacy Policy
Applies to the Slovary app published on the App Store and to this website. Last updated: 11 August 2026.
The short version
The app collects no personal data. It has no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. Dictionary lookups happen on your device and are never transmitted.
What the app does on your device
- Searches and articles you open stay on the device. They are not sent to us or to anyone else.
- Search history and saved words are stored locally so you can return to them. You can clear them in the app at any time.
- Settings (theme, text size, languages) are stored locally.
When the app uses the network
The app works fully offline. It contacts the network only when you ask it to, and only for these purposes:
- Downloading a dictionary you chose to install. The request goes to the address you supplied — this site, or any other host you point it at. The file is fetched; nothing about you is sent along with the request beyond what any file download involves.
- Downloading the optional on-device search model. Only if you switch meaning-based search on. The model then runs on your phone; your queries are never uploaded.
There is no server-side search, no user profile and no identifier assigned to you or your device.
What we do not do
- No advertising and no ad networks.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- No tracking across other apps or websites; the app shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt because it has nothing to track.
- No selling or sharing of data — there is none to sell.
Permissions
The app requests no access to location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or notifications.
This website
Serving these pages and dictionary files produces ordinary web-server logs (IP address, requested file, timestamp), kept briefly for security and reliability and not used to build any profile.
Children
Slovary is a general-audience reference tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date.
